Families reach out to their local Granny NANNIES offices all the time with, “We just don’t know what to do, or where to start. Can you help us?” Sound familiar?
Here is the advice I give them – start with an in-home consultation. The initial complimentary consultation is all about you getting to know about services and care providers. Our Granny NANNIES community liaison is very knowledgeable, so ask lots of questions. To make the most of your in-home consultation, keep these things in mind:
How Long Will It Take?
You don’t need to block off a whole morning or afternoon, consultations usually take about 1 hour.
I am not sure if home care is for our family – but I still want to look into it. Is it okay to request a consultation if I am not sure?
There is absolutely no commitment on your part until service with a caregiver is scheduled. All initial consultations are free, if after the consultation you decide your family member is not ready for home care, we will always be there when you are.
What Can I Do To Prepare for the Consultation?
- Have a list of questions
- Know your loved ones diagnosis and physician information
- Have a list of family emergency contacts
- Have a general idea of hours/times you need for care and duties required.
- Discuss concerns or struggles family faces regarding care for your loved one
- Do you have the Power of Attorney for your loved one?
- Do you have Long Term Care Insurance/ Policy Information
With Granny NANNIES your care providers services are tailored to your individual needs- whether you need a health care professional only a few hours a day or around the clock providing assistance with:
- Bathing
- Dressing/Grooming
- Meal Preparation/Feeding

The consultation is for formulating ideas about your loved one’s needs and unique circumstances.
